There is a need to integrate the exercise regimen presently practiced, be it Yoga or Gym.
Hatha yoga works on flexibility and Gym works on External Strength and appearance.
What is needed is simultaneously Stretching and Strengthening at one instant integrating all the joints from Skull to Ankle and aligning the entire skeletal system which in turn will automatically align the muscular system and nervous system and all internal organs and functions.
This is not possible in both yoga postures and gym workouts.
People get benefit only from the practice of mental stability through meditation and not from yoga postures presently taught which does more harm. i.e, most of the spiritual gurus do not concentrate on postures which is called hatha yoga.
The entire west is being misguided and hatha yoga is not a science descended from the past practices.
It is an attempt by humanity for centuries and no scientific model has been handed over to us.
Only from the middle of the last century did it come into the limelight because of BKS Iyengar who tried to find solutions in his own way and post that many schools came out using postures, heat, and much more acrobatics to attract.
Irony in the east, which is the mother place for the practice of yoga, minuscule population practice and that too only because of the west adopting it.
Why did the west adopt Yoga, because many could not take up GYM on account of Injury, strain, and time? For women, it affected their feminine features
The other system depends on strengthening. i.e, Fitness Centres and tools build up muscle mass and spend more energy to remain fit using tools and exercising part by part.
Modern fitness equipment and exercises are still more harmful. Using tools and weights with assistance causes only harm with muscle compression and unnecessary mass-generated restricting movement of bones.
Building muscle mass is absolutely not needed for the human system as what we need is to increase the ability of muscles to bear weight which has to include stretching. ie only when surface area increases capacity to absorb will increase.
We find many gym freaks getting cardiac arrest at early ages is only because of excessive strain and compression because most of the weight used is from the top and applied on our body.
GYM usage mostly stops after age fifty.
Like walking, sitting, standing, sleeping brings harm, and which is the cause of all our pain and illness, more harm is done when yoga or gym is taken up, and we find injuries and dropouts.
To put it straight, it is better to do nothing than to take up what is presently practiced, as both bring only harm and no good.
A generation is being taken in the wrong direction.
